Subdermal Adipose Remodeling

Countering the effects of aging can be challenging without surgical intervention. Certain areas are notoriously difficult to treat, including the delicate skin around the eyes, and the development of prominent jowls, and “turkey neck” directly below the chin. The facelift, considered the gold standard in facial rejuvenation, is a significant investment, but it garners permanent results.

Morpheus8 by innovative medical technology makers InMode is a new Subdermal Adipose Remodeling Device (SARD) that achieves the deepest fractional treatments available. One of the most advantageous things about Morpheus8 is that it can achieve skin tightening and adipose tissue (fat) reduction without the need for surgery. Morpheus8 gets effective results through the subdermal remodeling of fat deposits.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

There are two ergonomically-designed handpieces on the platform. The Morpheus8 handpiece is for smaller treatment areas, while Morpheus8 Body is reserved for larger areas and deeper skin remodeling. The advanced non-surgical needling system also includes specialized tips for specific areas of the face and body.

The Morpheus8 handpieces use a matrix of tiny micropins, assisted by fractionated RF heat energy. The electric current that RF generates results in heat through resistance in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.

This results in a minimally-invasive procedure that remodels skin safely and effectively. As the handpiece produces an electric current, it generates heat through resistance in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue.

Each Morpheus8 treatment targets and coagulates (clots) tissue for significant skin transformations in multiple areas. The adaptability of Morpheus8 means custom-designed patient treatment plans can be created with ease.

Morpheus8 with Exosomes

What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny sacs that contain proteins, lipids (fats), and other substances that help to restore damaged cells and promote healing.

The use of exosomes helps to speed up the healing process after the Morpheus8 treatment. It also helps to improve skin health, making it look and feel smoother, firmer, and more youthful.

How Are Exosomes Used With Morpheus8?

When used in combination with Morpheus8, exosomes can provide enhanced results. Dr. Cohen delivers exosomes to the treatment area alongside the radio-frequency energy from the device. This helps to stimulate collagen and elastin production, while also providing nourishment to the skin cells.

Morpheus 8 Procedure

Your Morpheus8 procedure will be highly customized to your specific aesthetic goals. But whether treatment is conducted on your face or your body, the basic elements of each session share similarities

Prior to your procedure, we will use a topical numbing gel (lidocaine) for your comfort, but may make the option of oral pain medication available to patients who require it. In some cases, patients may request nitrous oxide, though Dr. Cohen will discuss this with you well in advance of your treatment session.

The appropriate Morpheus8 handpiece will be configured to the correct depth and strength using the platform’s state-of-the-art interface. After calibration, your trained technician will place the matrix of tiny RF-aided micro pins onto the area(s) of treatment. At this time, you may experience heat similar to that of a mild sunburn, which may continue after your treatment session is complete.

Recovery

Patients may experience skin warmth, tightness, swelling, and bruising following their treatment. The duration of these effects may last anywhere between a few days and up to two weeks. In some cases, there may be light scabbing of the treatment area(s). Please do not touch, scratch or remove scabs if they appear, as this could result in scarring or lasting skin discoloration.

Aftercare instructions for Morpheus8 include the following.

  • Avoid touching or manipulating the skin in the treatment area.
  • Do not use hot tubs, saunas, or take part in any other skin-heating bathing activity.
  • Wear a broad-spectrum, high SPF sunscreen, and avoid direct sun exposure completely.
  • Avoid topical retinoids, isotretinoin, and other skin-irritating treatments.
  • Keep the area as clean as possible and avoid mechanical or thermal damage to the skin.
  • Use lukewarm water and gentle soaps on your skin.
  • You may resume wearing makeup 72 hours after your treatment.
